Dr. Marc L. Fisher, the founder of Fisher-Swale-Nicholson-Nicholson Eye Center, has practiced in the Kankakee area since 1983. He is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract and lens implant surgery, refractive surgery, and laser vision correction.
In 1974, he graduated with honors from the University of Notre Dame which included one year of study abroad at the University of Innsbruck in Austria. After a year working on a masters degree in microbiology, Dr. Fisher began his medical studies at the University of Iowa and graduated with his medical degree in 1979. In Phoenix, Arizona, he did a one year internship at Good Samaritan Hospital. Later, he completed a three year ophthalmology residency at the University of Missouri Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, with part of the postgraduate studies at Harvard Medical School in Boston.
Dr. Fisher is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the Illinois Association of Ophthalmology.
